My Nagoya 2 weeks "boot camp"

I went down to Nagoya to have my new job training. Nagoya is two and half hour by Shinkansen or bullet train from Tokyo station. It's a nice and small city and a lot calmer than Tokyo. They said there's not much to see but everything you need is just there. From cheap to high end shops and restaurants. As well as pubs and isakayas. I'm sure there are more places to visit but I had a limited time to roam around because of my intense training. I only got to go to some places but it was part of the training and most of them were in the residential areas and there's absolutely nothing to see.
I and my 3 other co-trainees stayed at this apartment. Nice and big but I don't understand why there were no rods in the closet! Japanese, Japanese! This apartment is located about 20 minutes away from Nagoya station.

This thing is kind of funny and I have never passed this Japanese restaurant without peering at this poor car inside. It's a nice car and well maintained. I just
don't have the right camera to take pictures! :-(

This is the first school I went to alone. It's about 2 hours from the station and is extremely suburb area. the place was really quite. The trains comes every one hour so as soon as you arrive at the station the first train to come should be treated like gold or else you have to wait and mind you.. the waiting area have got no shades! So you'll have to stand in either under the rain or under the sun! Glad I had my umbrella with me!
I managed to make time to go to the Nagoya castle. It's new because the old one was destroyed during WWII. The castle is nice from the outside but it didn't look nice inside, in my own opinion. But of course, there were Japanese ancient memorabilias like swords and things they used during world war. There were 7 stories and one thing I didn't like was there was elevator inside it. Maybe they made it for elderly people but I think it's just too much. It doesn't look historic anymore!

Before heading up to the castle, we had some really good green tea ice cream from a parlor not far away from the castle entrance. It was delicious in fact the most delicious ice cream I've ever tested (I'm never a fan of ice creams and I'm sure I haven't tested all ice cream haha). It was sweltering hot and it melted so quickly and it was so messy but I sure have enjoyed it! I think it is the only thing I find interesting and nice on the entire trip. And oh aside from beautiful souvenirs I brought back home!

These are  some of the sights you can find at the heart of Nagoya city. My co-trainees and I went for a stroll before making each of our ways to our new job placements. We went shopping, eating and drinking of course. Things were affordable and most of all we had so much fun and made friends to last!

The training was intense but it sure was needed to be able to do a right job with our new and exciting jobs!
